About BrassSmile
Who stands behind every article, why we built the site, and the steps we take to keep information honest and current.
Why BrassSmile Exists
Independent braces information without the sales pitch.
Parents searching for straight answers on braces or adults finally ready to fix a long-standing overbite often feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice online. In this page about brass smile you will see exactly who stands behind every article on BrassSmile, why we built the site, and the steps we take to keep information honest and current.
BrassSmile exists as an independent braces information source. We do not sell braces, own clinics, or accept paid placements from aligner companies. Our only goal is to give you the same clear facts a board-certified orthodontist would share during a consultation, minus the sales pitch.
We started BrassSmile because families kept asking the same questions in orthodontic waiting rooms: How much will this really cost? Which type actually works for my bite? How do I know the provider is qualified? Those conversations showed us that most online content either came from clinics pushing their own services or from thin affiliate blogs repeating the same generic numbers.
Our mission stays simple. We publish practical, evidence-based guides on braces, clear aligners, treatment timelines, insurance realities, and how to choose the right orthodontist. Every article follows the same rule: if a patient could not take the information into a real consultation and use it immediately, we rewrite it.
The BrassSmile Team
Real clinical experience combined with professional health writing. No one here simply copies press releases.
Emily Rodriguez
Emily founded BrassSmile in 2023 after twelve years as a treatment coordinator in a busy Chicago orthodontic practice. She watched hundreds of families walk in confused and leave confident once they received straight answers. Emily holds a bachelor's degree in health communications and still volunteers as a patient advocate for the American Association of Orthodontists local chapter.
Dr. Robert Kline, DDS, MS
Dr. Kline completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Michigan, earned ABO diplomate status from the American Board of Orthodontics, and has practiced for eighteen years in suburban Detroit. Dr. Kline reviews every clinical claim before publication and signs off only when the content matches current AAO and ADA guidance.
Staff Writers
Our staff writers each carry at least eight years writing for dental and consumer health publications. They interview practicing orthodontists, attend AAO annual sessions, and maintain active relationships with state dental boards so updates reach you faster than most large health portals.
How We Create and Review Content
Our dental editorial standards follow a fixed process that never changes.
Primary Source Research
A writer researches the topic using primary sources: AAO clinical guidelines, ADA policy statements, peer-reviewed journals, and fee surveys from orthodontic practices across the country.
Plain-Language Drafting
We draft the article in plain language that matches what patients actually hear in the chair.
Medical Review
Dr. Kline or another ABO-certified reviewer checks every medical fact, price range, and treatment timeline.
Patient-Relevance Check
A second editor verifies that the piece answers the exact question a real patient would type into Google.
Publish & Scheduled Review
We publish, then schedule the article for review every twelve months or sooner when new FDA approvals, CDC oral-health data, or AAO updates appear.
This process keeps BrassSmile accurate even as clear aligner technology and insurance rules shift.
Our Sources and Citation Policy
We cite official organizations and link directly to original documents.
We cite the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), and state dental boards whenever we reference official positions or statistics. You will see direct links to the original documents at the bottom of every article. We never publish a cost range or treatment recommendation without recent clinic-reported data or AAO survey backing.
Thank you for trusting BrassSmile as your braces information source.
